The journey

A Serengeti route that gives each day a reason to be there.

Seven days allow a northern Tanzania safari to breathe. Rather than treating Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti as a rapid checklist, this itinerary puts a full wildlife day into each key chapter and gives central Serengeti three nights. You experience the change from elephant country and baobabs to volcanic highlands and the immense plains with the time to enjoy both the wildlife and the places you stay.

The itinerary is fully private and can be finished with a flight, adjusted around your arrival or extended north for Mara River country. We select camp and lodge options by asking what comfort means to you: dependable mid-range value, more private luxury, or high-end stays where setting and service are central to the experience.

Day by day

The complete route.

Suggested stays are names only, so the daily plan remains clear. Live availability and the best matching property are confirmed with you before booking.

Day 1

Arrive in Arusha and begin at an easy pace.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport or meet our team in Arusha, then transfer to your lodge for a calm first evening. The purpose is to start well: a comfortable bed, a proper meal and time to reset before the road journey begins. We confirm the next day’s departure, answer practical questions and make sure the first safari morning feels prepared rather than hurried.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park: elephants, baobabs and a strong first safari day.

Leave after breakfast for Tarangire, where the landscape changes into baobab country, river corridors and open wildlife areas. Enter the park for a private game drive with a picnic lunch, allowing the day to build naturally around sightings rather than following a shared schedule. Elephants are a major draw, but birdlife, antelope and the quiet scale of the park give the experience its character. Arrive at camp in time for a slow evening.

Day 3

Tarangire to Ngorongoro highlands, with a more relaxed connection.

Enjoy an early Tarangire drive, then begin the transfer through the northern circuit towards the Ngorongoro highlands. We keep the route realistic, with a proper lunch and time to arrive at your lodge before dark. The change in temperature, forest and elevation brings a welcome contrast after the warm savannah. Settle in for dinner and prepare for an early crater day.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater private game drive, then onward to central Serengeti.

Descend early to the crater floor, where grassland, wetland and acacia woodland create a concentrated wildlife experience. Your guide plans the route around the early hours, a sensible picnic break and the time you need to appreciate each habitat. In the afternoon, ascend and continue towards central Serengeti, entering the plains for a game-drive transfer to camp. It is a full day, but one planned with purpose and enough reward along the way.

Day 5

A full central Serengeti day with private guiding.

Spend the day in the heart of the Serengeti, beginning at first light when wildlife activity and photography conditions are often at their best. Your guide will shape the route around recent sightings and your interests, whether that means cats, elephant herds, birdlife, landscape or simply unhurried game viewing. Return to camp for lunch or carry a picnic; the private vehicle gives you the choice.

Day 6

A second Serengeti day with the luxury of time.

This is the day that turns a classic itinerary into a satisfying one. Revisit a productive area at a different time, drive into a new part of the central circuit or choose a slower camp morning followed by a long afternoon outing. There is no need to make every hour look busy. The best sightings often come when there is time to watch, wait and let the wildlife determine the next decision.

Day 7

Final Serengeti morning, then fly or travel onward.

Take one final morning drive before the transfer to Seronera airstrip or your selected road connection. A flight can return you to Arusha efficiently, while an onward route can extend to northern Serengeti, Zanzibar or another East African destination. We set this final day around the actual schedule and your preferred pace, including an overnight in Arusha if a same-day flight would feel too tight.

Before you decide

Useful answers, stated clearly.

Is this a fixed departure or a private itinerary?

This is a private itinerary and a detailed starting point. We shape it around your dates, group, preferred pace and the accommodation level you want.

Are the listed prices the total cost of the safari?

No. They are planning ranges per person, per day, as requested. The final proposal is based on your exact travel period, party size, camp choice and any internal flights or special experiences.

Can we change the accommodation level during the journey?

Yes. A thoughtful journey can combine levels of stay. We explain the effect of each choice and build a balanced route without pushing one standard across every night.

Will we see the migration?

The Serengeti is rewarding throughout the year, and we position the route around likely seasonal movement where relevant. Wildlife movement is natural and cannot be guaranteed, so we explain the opportunity honestly and give the journey value beyond one sighting.
