About The Roaming Masai

Exceptional East Africa, designed entirely around you.

Safari transfer vehicle ready for an airport arrival in Arusha Private journeys. Personal service.

The Roaming Masai Guide Safaris creates distinguished East African journeys for private travellers and private groups. Our portfolio spans expertly planned mid-range safaris, refined luxury escapes and exceptional high-end itineraries—each designed with privacy, comfort and personal service at its core.

Across Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, we combine private guiding, carefully selected camps and lodges, seamless transfers and remarkable wildlife experiences into one considered journey. Nothing is selected simply to fill an itinerary; every detail must earn its place.

Whether you are planning a private couple’s safari, a family celebration or an exclusive group departure, our specialists shape the experience around your interests, preferred pace and level of luxury. The result is a safari that feels effortless, personal and unmistakably yours.

Meet The Roaming Masai

The safari, well paced

More time where the wild things happen.

A memorable safari is not a race between park gates. It is an early start when the light is good, enough time with a remarkable sighting, a guide who reads the landscape, and a camp that feels like the right place to return to at the end of the day.

We plan private journeys through Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda with room to absorb each place. From the Serengeti’s open plains to the Ngorongoro Crater, forest encounters and a Zanzibar shoreline, every night and transfer has a purpose: to give you more of East Africa, not more time on the road.

01

Follow the season

We place your safari where the wildlife, landscapes and conditions are at their most rewarding for your travel dates.

02

Stay long enough to feel it

More than one night in the right area means unhurried game drives, quieter camp time and freedom to follow the day.

03

Travel at your own pace

Your private guide and vehicle allow the experience to respond to your interests, from first light to your final sundowner.

Guest experiences

What guests remember most.

The memorable parts of a safari are often the details that are hard to see in an itinerary: a guide who understands the group, a route that feels calm, and a team that makes the experience easier from the first conversation onward.

★★★★★
“We wanted our safari to feel special without making every day feel over-planned. The balance was exactly right: unforgettable time in the Serengeti, beautiful camps, and a smooth transition to Zanzibar where we could simply slow down and enjoy the end of our trip.”

“We asked for a more relaxed pace and that was genuinely understood. Our guide gave us time with the wildlife, planned sensible drives and made every day feel comfortable. We returned home with wonderful memories rather than feeling we had been rushing from place to place.”

“The planning was clear from the beginning. We could see the difference between the accommodation options, understand what each part of the route allowed and decide where we wanted to spend more. That made the whole booking process feel straightforward and personal.”

Planning essentials

Straight answers before your safari begins.

These are the practical questions travellers ask most often about timing, comfort, routes and private travel in East Africa. If your plans are more specific, our team is ready to talk them through.

Plan my safari
Before you enquire

Five useful answers to get your planning started.

01Should I choose a mid-range or luxury safari?

Both can be excellent. The right choice depends on how much privacy, room comfort, exclusivity and included service matter to you. We explain the practical differences between accommodation options and help you invest where it will have the greatest effect on your journey.

02How far ahead should I plan my safari?

Earlier planning gives you the broadest choice of camps, lodges and internal flights, particularly for peak travel periods and specific wildlife experiences. If your dates are closer, we can still advise on what is realistically available and build the strongest route around it.

03Can I combine more than one East African country?

Yes. We design considered combinations across Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, allowing enough time in each place rather than collecting border crossings.

04Can you tailor an existing safari package?

Absolutely. Our safari packages are useful starting points, not rigid templates. We can adapt the pace, accommodation level, flights and experiences around your dates, interests and the people travelling.

05What should I share in my first enquiry?

Your travel dates or date range, number of travellers, destinations under consideration, preferred comfort level and any must-see interests are enough to begin. Our safari planning form keeps it simple.
