The journey

Tanzania, experienced with a rhythm that feels right.

A bush-to-beach journey works when neither chapter feels like an afterthought. This route gives the northern circuit enough space for real wildlife time, then uses a well-timed flight to shift the pace completely on Zanzibar’s coast.

We refine the final route around wildlife conditions, lodge availability, road or light-aircraft preferences and the level of comfort you want. The result is a private journey that feels coherent from arrival to departure.

Day by day

The rhythm of the route.

Every day is designed to give the wildlife, landscape and lodge experience the time it deserves.

Day 01

Arrival in Arusha: private welcome and a quiet start

Arrive in Arusha and transfer privately to your selected hotel. The evening is deliberately simple, with a safari briefing and time to rest. Your private host or guide meets you at the airport and manages the arrival quietly. We leave the evening open so you can recover from travel, enjoy your room and start the safari feeling looked after rather than hurried. This first night is selected for more than convenience: it protects your recovery after an international flight, keeps the next morning straightforward and gives you a clear point of contact before the safari begins.

Day 02

Tarangire: elephants, baobabs and a refined camp stay

Travel into Tarangire National Park for private game viewing and a stay chosen for its sense of place, service and quiet evening atmosphere. Tarangire provides a calm, elegant opening to the northern circuit. The day can include a private picnic, a longer wildlife sighting or a lodge return during the warmer hours, depending on what feels right for you. We factor in real driving time, comfort stops, park formalities and a proper meal rather than publishing an optimistic transfer time. Your guide manages the practical flow quietly so the journey remains enjoyable.

Day 03

Tarangire to the Serengeti

Continue to the Serengeti through the northern circuit or fly according to your preferred pace. Arrive with enough time for the first game drive and a calm dinner. We choose the road or air connection according to your desired pace and the camp arrangement. Either way, the transition is treated as part of the experience, with time to arrive well rather than simply reach the next bed. Game viewing is never treated as a fixed mileage target. Your private guide considers recent sightings, light, weather and your own energy, then explains the choices so you can take part in shaping the day.

Day 04

Central Serengeti: time for wildlife and lodge life

Explore the plains with your private guide, following wildlife movement and your own interests. Return to camp for a long lunch or a slower afternoon when that feels right. Your guide shapes the day around the wildlife and the level of privacy you want. You can take an early drive, return for a long lunch or stay out through golden hour without being tied to a shared schedule. The route keeps enough flexibility for a slow lunch at camp, a private picnic or more time at a meaningful wildlife encounter. This is how the day stays rich without becoming relentlessly full.

Day 05

A second Serengeti day at your pace

A second full day lets the Serengeti feel generous. Consider a balloon flight, a private bush breakfast or simply more time at a wildlife sighting that deserves it. The second Serengeti day gives you choices: a balloon flight at dawn, a private bush breakfast, time in camp or another full day of tracking. We make sure the experience feels personal rather than programmed. Accommodation is matched to your selected level of comfort, with the final proposal showing exactly what changes in setting, room style, privacy, service and the way the stay supports the next day.

Day 06

Ngorongoro highlands: transition to the crater

Travel to the Ngorongoro highlands. The route is paced as a true transition day, with an excellent lodge and a restful evening before the crater. The journey to Ngorongoro is purposely paced, with a considered lunch and a lodge stay that lets you enjoy the highland setting. The evening is for rest and preparation, not a packed extra activity. Your guide and lodge team coordinate the timing of meals, luggage and the following morning’s departure in advance. The operational detail is handled in the background, leaving the experience feeling calm and personal.

Day 07

Ngorongoro Crater and flight to Zanzibar

Enjoy an early crater descent, then connect through the practical flight schedule to Zanzibar. Arrive at your beach stay with the rest of the evening free. The crater descent is timed for the best light and a calmer start. After your wildlife morning, we coordinate the transfer and flight to Zanzibar so the switch from bush to beach feels smooth and unforced. This chapter is deliberately protected from unnecessary extras. The best experiences are often the ones that have room for a change in weather, an unplanned sighting or simply the wish to slow down.

Day 08

Zanzibar: arrive, settle and slow down

Settle into the coast without a programme forced upon you. Swim, walk the beach, enjoy the spa or simply let the safari’s pace fall away. On arrival at the coast, you have nothing to chase. The first evening is for the beach, a good dinner and the uncomplicated pleasure of moving at a completely different pace. Any onward travel is confirmed against the final flight schedule and current road conditions. We do not leave the last connection to chance, and we will recommend an additional night whenever it creates a more comfortable end to the journey.

Day 09

A full Zanzibar day, designed around you

Choose a private dhow experience, a stone-town visit, snorkelling or an entirely unplanned day at your resort. We tailor this chapter around the kind of rest you value. Your Zanzibar day can be as active or quiet as you want: private snorkelling, a dhow trip, a visit to Stone Town, a spa treatment or simply a long day by the water. We tailor the options before travel and leave room to change your mind on the day. This longer route allows the wildlife experience and the lodge experience to support one another. You are not expected to be in the vehicle all day simply because the itinerary has another place to reach.

Day 10

Private departure from Zanzibar

Enjoy a final breakfast and a private transfer to Zanzibar airport around your departure time. We arrange the airport transfer to fit your flight, with luggage, timings and any final island plans handled by the team. If you prefer more time at the coast, the itinerary extends naturally without changing the safari logic. Your final documents set out the confirmed times, inclusions and contacts clearly. Before travel, we also discuss packing, dietary needs, special occasions and any small details that make the private journey feel genuinely yours.

Useful answers for this Tanzania safari.

Can this route be tailored to our dates?

Yes. These itineraries are considered starting points. We adapt the route around your travel window, wildlife priorities, lodge availability and preferred pace.

How do we choose between mid-range, luxury and high-end?

We explain the practical difference in room style, privacy, camp setting, inclusions and service, so you can invest where it will change the journey for you.

Can we add Zanzibar or another East African country?

Yes. A beach finish, Kenya, Rwanda or Uganda extension can be added when it creates a better overall holiday rather than simply more nights.
