The journey

Tanzania, experienced with a rhythm that feels right.

This is the classic northern circuit, designed for travellers who want Tanzania’s essential wildlife areas without compressing the experience into a rapid sequence of park gates and long drives.

We refine the final route around wildlife conditions, lodge availability, road or light-aircraft preferences and the level of comfort you want. The result is a private journey that feels coherent from arrival to departure.

Day by day

The rhythm of the route.

Every day is designed to give the wildlife, landscape and lodge experience the time it deserves.

Day 01

Arrival in Arusha: settle in before the safari

Meet your private driver-guide, settle into your chosen Arusha hotel and keep the evening light. A clear briefing prepares you for the route without turning arrival day into an activity. We keep your arrival evening deliberately light: time to refresh after the flight, review the route with the team and enjoy a good meal without an early departure or unnecessary city touring. This first night is selected for more than convenience: it protects your recovery after an international flight, keeps the next morning straightforward and gives you a clear point of contact before the safari begins.

Day 02

Arusha to Tarangire: elephants and baobab country

Travel privately into Tarangire National Park. Game viewing begins as the route opens into baobab country; arrive at camp with time for an afternoon drive or a slow sundowner. Your private vehicle is stocked with drinking water and your guide explains the day as it unfolds. Tarangire is often most rewarding at the edges of the day, so the plan allows for a relaxed lunch or rest at camp before an afternoon drive. We factor in real driving time, comfort stops, park formalities and a proper meal rather than publishing an optimistic transfer time. Your guide manages the practical flow quietly so the journey remains enjoyable.

Day 03

Tarangire to the Serengeti: travel into the wide plains

Continue through the northern circuit toward the Serengeti. We plan the journey with worthwhile stops and a lodge arrival that still leaves time to settle into the plains. Rather than racing across the circuit, we build in a proper lunch and wildlife stops along the way. Your guide can pause where the landscape or sightings deserve attention, then arrives at camp with enough daylight for the setting to make an impression. Game viewing is never treated as a fixed mileage target. Your private guide considers recent sightings, light, weather and your own energy, then explains the choices so you can take part in shaping the day.

Day 04

Central Serengeti: private game drives with time to follow sightings

Start at first light, then let your private guide follow current wildlife movement rather than a rigid schedule. This is the day for big cats, resident wildlife and the spaciousness of the Serengeti. The day is yours to shape within the park. You may leave before sunrise, return to camp during the warmer hours, and set out again in late afternoon; this flexibility is especially valuable for photography, families and first-time safari guests. The route keeps enough flexibility for a slow lunch at camp, a private picnic or more time at a meaningful wildlife encounter. This is how the day stays rich without becoming relentlessly full.

Day 05

A second Serengeti day at your pace

A second night gives the Serengeti the depth it needs. Choose more game viewing, a balloon experience when available, or a slower lodge morning before an afternoon drive. This extra day is not filler. It gives your guide a second chance to explore a different area of the central Serengeti, follow a particular wildlife story or simply create a quieter morning after an early game drive. Accommodation is matched to your selected level of comfort, with the final proposal showing exactly what changes in setting, room style, privacy, service and the way the stay supports the next day.

Day 06

Serengeti to Ngorongoro: a purposeful transition

Travel southeast through the Serengeti toward the Ngorongoro highlands. The transition is part of the experience, with shifting landscapes and a relaxed arrival at your crater-area lodge. We do not schedule a forced activity after the drive. The highlands have a noticeably different temperature and atmosphere, so the evening is for settling into your lodge, enjoying dinner and preparing for an early crater descent. Your guide and lodge team coordinate the timing of meals, luggage and the following morning’s departure in advance. The operational detail is handled in the background, leaving the experience feeling calm and personal.

Day 07

Ngorongoro Crater and onward departure

Descend early into the Ngorongoro Crater for a privately guided wildlife day, then continue to Arusha or the airport in time for your onward arrangements. Your guide chooses the descent timing around gate procedures, light and the day’s logistics. A picnic lunch is arranged in the crater, while the route back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport is planned realistically around your final flight. This chapter is deliberately protected from unnecessary extras. The best experiences are often the ones that have room for a change in weather, an unplanned sighting or simply the wish to slow down.

We explain the practical difference in room style, privacy, camp setting, inclusions and service, so you can invest where it will change the journey for you.
