The journey

A family journey with the right pace.

This is a family route with genuine breathing space. This particular route through Arusha, Serengeti and Ngorongoro gives 7 Days Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Tarangire Family Safari its distinct character. The driving is planned with realistic distances, proper comfort stops and stays where family room options can be considered from the start. Time in the vehicle is never treated as the point of the holiday.

Your guide reads the day with your family in mind—wildlife moments when attention is high, a return to camp before everyone is spent, and flexibility for the things children unexpectedly love. 7 Days Serengeti, Ngorongoro & Tarangire Family Safari can be refined around your dates, room requirements and the experiences you want to prioritise.

Day by day

The pace of the route.

Each day is intentionally balanced between meaningful time in the field and the space to enjoy your stay.

Day 01

Arusha Departure to Tarangire Elephant Basin Tracking

Your private guide meets your family early in Arusha to initiate your private tour. Drive south through changing landscapes to enter the ancient baobab savannas of Tarangire National Park. Spend your afternoon tracking immense elephant family lines browsing along the central riverbeds. Settle your children into the beautiful canvas accommodations at Nyikani Tarangire Camp for dinner and an immersive evening under deep stars.

Day 02

Full Day Tracking inside the Tarangire Valley

Dedicate a full 24-hour block to exploring the remote sand tracks and major water channels of Tarangire. Your guide will locate large migratory buffalo herds and resident prides hunting around the permanent swamp lagoons. Children can participate in interactive wildlife tracking demonstrations safely from the pop-up roof. Spend a second peaceful night under canvas at Nyikani Tarangire Camp.

Day 03

Ngorongoro Conservation Transit to the Central Serengeti Savanna

Pack your bags and traverse up the misty montane forest of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area ridge, descending down the western slopes into the vast open horizon of the Serengeti plains. Savor a packed family picnic lunch under a wild acacia tree before transitioning into afternoon predator runs through the central Seronera valley. Settle into Malaika Seronera Luxury Camp for dinner.

Day 04

Full Day Big Cat Tracking across the Seronera Plains

An absolute, dedicated game drive tracking across the heart of the Serengeti ecosystem. Central Seronera is globally famous for holding exceptional densities of leopards and territorial lion prides defending the rocky kopjes. Your guide will align tracking loops with seasonal migration movements passing through the valley, returning to the absolute comfort of Malaika Seronera Luxury Camp for dinner.

Day 05

Sunrise Serengeti Game Drive to the Ngorongoro Rim Shelf

Capture a beautiful Serengeti dawn run as early morning light catches active hyena prides and big cats returning from night hunts. Following a hot camp brunch, pack your kit and execute a slow exit safari track heading back toward the high-altitude volcanic country. Climb the steep highland trails to check into the elite forest setting of Lion's Paw Ngorongoro for dinner and a cooler evening.

Day 06

Pristine Volcanic Floor Descent for an Elite Crater Tour

Descend early down the vertical rock walls onto the floor of the world's largest un-flooded inactive caldera. The Ngorongoro Crater serves as a magnificent self-contained ecosystem sheltering over 25,000 large mammals. Track resident black-maned lions, heavy cape buffaloes, and endangered black rhinos along the short-grass plains. Enjoy a family picnic lunch beside the active hippo pool before ascending to relax at Marera Valley Lodge.

Day 07

Traditional Maasai Village Tour & Direct JRO Airport Return

Conclude your family circuit with a structured, dignified visit to an authentic Maasai boma community along the outer highland rim. Observe traditional earth-and-thatch architectures, vibrant local beadwork methodologies, and vocal jumping tracks. Following an early lunch, enjoy a comfortable tarmac drive back to Arusha, dropping off directly at Kilimanjaro international Airport (JRO) for your flight home.

Before you decide

Useful answers, without the sales pressure.

Are these prices the total cost of the trip?

No. The figures above are planning ranges per person, per day—not a fixed trip total. Your proposal will reflect the exact season, route, accommodation choice and number of travellers.

Can I mix mid-range, luxury and high-end stays?

Yes. Many excellent journeys combine levels of accommodation intentionally: for example, an accessible lodge on arrival, a more immersive camp in the Serengeti, then a standout final stay.

Are the accommodation options always available?

Availability changes with season and lead time. We show three appropriate starting points for each destination, then recommend live options that match your dates and room requirements.

Can this itinerary be adapted for my dates and interests?

Absolutely. The structure is a considered starting point. We can adjust the pace, add nights, change regions, add a beach extension or refine the balance between wildlife, culture and rest.
