The journey

Follow the season, not a script.

This itinerary is built around movement, not a fixed wildlife promise. In 6 Days Great Migration Safari, every transition through Arusha, Serengeti and Ngorongoro is planned to support the experience, not fill time. Your journey is positioned to make the most of the season, with enough time in the ecosystem for your guide to respond to fresh tracks, weather and where the herds are actually gathering.

That flexibility is matched by thoughtful stays and practical routing, so each day remains rewarding even when nature decides to change the plan. 6 Days Great Migration Safari can be refined around your dates, room requirements and the experiences you want to prioritise.

Day by day

The pace of the route.

Each day is intentionally balanced between meaningful time in the field and the space to enjoy your stay.

Day 01

Arusha Pick-up & Tarangire Wildlife Exploration

Your guide will meet you in Arusha for a morning briefing before driving into Tarangire National Park. Known as the 'Valley of Giants,' Tarangire features striking landscapes dotted with massive baobab trees and immense family herds of elephants. Spend the afternoon tracking lions near the river basin. At dusk, head up to Karatu to check in at Marera Valley Lodge for an open-air dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02

Ngorongoro Transit into the Endless Serengeti Plains

Depart Karatu and climb through the forest of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, skimming the crater rim before descending onto the sweeping golden savanna of the Serengeti. Enjoy an entry game drive tracking local cheetah prides as we make our way to our primary camp site. Check in at Embalakai Serengeti Camp for dinner around the campfire and your first night under luxury canvas.

Day 03

Full Day Tracking the Great Wildebeest Migration

Set out at the crack of dawn to follow the massive columns of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains. Depending on your travel dates, we position your vehicle along key tracking corridors (such as the Southern Ndutu plains for calving or the northern river banks for crossings). Break for an authentic bush lunch under an acacia tree before heading back out for afternoon predator tracking.

Day 04

Second Dedicated Day of Serengeti Big Cat Discovery

Spend an absolute second full day exploring the hidden valleys and rocky kopjes of the Serengeti ecosystem. This allows us to track elusive leopards draped over branches along the Seronera river network and observe massive lion prides interacting. Spend another deep, peaceful night in the wild at Embalakai Serengeti Camp.

Day 05

Morning Serengeti Wildlife Drive & Ngorongoro Crater Rim

Take a final early morning safari run through the plains as the sun catches the dew on the grass. After a mid-day brunch, pack your kit and embark on an exit game drive toward the high-altitude country. Wind your way up the highlands to find your lodge sitting cleanly along the volcanic edge. Check into Ngorongoro Rim Lodge for a cooler evening overlooking the deep caldera.

Day 06

Crater Basin Big Five, Maasai Culture & JRO Airport Drop-off

Descend early onto the floor of the world's largest unfilled volcanic caldera. This self-contained biosphere hosts over 25,000 large mammals, providing an elite theater to complete your Big Five sightings—including the rare black rhino. Following a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, ascend the rim for a traditional Maasai boma cultural loop, before a smooth transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) for your flight home.

Before you decide

Useful answers, without the sales pressure.

Are these prices the total cost of the trip?

No. The figures above are planning ranges per person, per day—not a fixed trip total. Your proposal will reflect the exact season, route, accommodation choice and number of travellers.

Can I mix mid-range, luxury and high-end stays?

Yes. Many excellent journeys combine levels of accommodation intentionally: for example, an accessible lodge on arrival, a more immersive camp in the Serengeti, then a standout final stay.

Are the accommodation options always available?

Availability changes with season and lead time. We show three appropriate starting points for each destination, then recommend live options that match your dates and room requirements.

Can this itinerary be adapted for my dates and interests?

Absolutely. The structure is a considered starting point. We can adjust the pace, add nights, change regions, add a beach extension or refine the balance between wildlife, culture and rest.
