The journey
With limited days, the route needs to be precise. Across Arusha, Tarangire and Ngorongoro, this 2-day journey has a sequence of its own. The focus is on a small number of strong experiences and sensible travel times, so you spend more of the itinerary in the landscapes you came to see. Each stop is chosen for what it adds to the journey.

Day by day
Each day is intentionally balanced between meaningful time in the field and the space to enjoy your stay.
Your guide will meet you directly at Arusha Airport upon arrival. We drive straight to Tarangire National Park, famous for its striking baobab landscapes and some of the largest elephant populations in Africa. Enjoy a full afternoon game drive and a picnic lunch in the park. In the late afternoon, we exit the park and drive to the highlands of Karatu, checking in at the beautiful Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, we drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters to the crater floor. Spend the morning tracking the Big Five in this unique, enclosed ecosystem. Following a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, we will ascend the crater wall and visit a traditional Maasai Village to learn about their pastoral culture. Finally, your guide will transfer you to Kilimanjaro international Airport (JRO) for your onward flight.
